Anyone around Como/Milan?

My girlfriend and I will be staying in Como from Nov. 16th - 23rd. The trip is dual purpose, as of course we want to have a nice vacation, but we are also scoping out the area because we would like to live there in the next few years. My questions are these....

1. good recommendations for local eating? (Lunch, dinner, coffee)

2. Places of interest that are maybe outside of the normal tourist brochures?

3. Housing areas of note, any places that would give us a good idea of where to live and what it would be like?

Hi

We spent a long time aroung como, before buying a place in Stresa on Lake Maggorie. Como is quite expensive as are the villages surrounding it. Maltrasio and the Posta Hotel and Resturant are great for staying and a Meal, and only around 15 mins from Como. Property costs are horrendus they did not used to be but then Clooney and others moved there are prices went through the roof. We are out in Italy until the 15th so will miss you but if you want more info email me
