Hello to everyone.

I recently applied for a Health, Safety & Environmental Trainer position with a major plastic production company in AD. The recruiter has forwarded all info to the employer, but he wants to know what my expected monthly salary (transport, accomodations, airfare, etc.) would be.

I have done some research, houseing runs anywhere from 120,000 to 260,000 dhs a yr. Food, auto (new or used), furniture, etc, seem to be in line with the prices here in the US.

I would be moving my wife over, no kids.

When I start punching the numbers, I come up with an outragous number, at least to me.

Any input would be helpful. A position of this type in the US would be around 90K.

Hi PL,

Welcome to EF.

HSE trainer on a western term contract? I'd put a stick in the sand at about 35k a month give or take a few K. (about 115k USD) High 30's if you have a lot of experience and a good firm wants you.

In general - yes, I'd say your about right - prices similar to mainstream US, again give or take, but housing being the big variable on how much you have left to spend /save / invest.

Good luck with your negotations
