Hi, I am trying to get a sense of the cost of living in Rotterdam compared to the UK. I have been over for a weekend doing some research and it seemed that rented accommodation was more expensive than a UK equivalent (I live in Edinburgh at the moment), and eating out in good restaurants was quite pricey as well.

Does anyone have a view on comparable prices?

Thx,

Simon

Hi Simon,

I have never seen comparisons of prices, but generally speaking you can live the Netherlands if you have 1500 euro a month nett and don't have a luxury life style.
Prices for houses can be high, but if you search a bit longer and harder it is possible to get something that is not too expensive. We had several questions about cheap housing in Rotterdam before, so if you search this forum you will be able to find some addresses.
If you are going to work in Rotterdam, your employer might be able to help.

Good luck,
Agnes
