2004 I moved from southern UK to Muehlhausen in Thuringia, bought a house, rebuilt it, made lots of real friends and have never looked back. This part of Germany is cheap, especially property, and the British get a warm welcome as being rather a novelty still. I am so enthusiastic about my new home that I have set up a website with lots of pictures so that more people become aware of this lovely area, in particular pensioners like me:

Sounds interesting, will take a look as have been considering Germany for property investment for a while. I used to speak some German and would love a base there to visit and start learning the language again. I currently live in Bulgaria but am looking for a winter base.
