We are moving over next year to Pliska, can any one give me any tips on picking up the language, there is no where to go for lessons where I live, I have bought a couple of CD's and a book, but they seems more intermediate than beginner, any advice would be very welcome. I am sure once we are there we will pick it up quickly, but a bit of a head start would make life a bit easier.

Hi rainey,
I find the above link very usefull indeed. Actually I'm Bulgarian, I live in Varna, not too far from Pliska, it's about 73km highway, about 45 minutes. If I can be of any help in the process of learning Bg, I would be very happy to assist you. I have some materials ( exercises, etc. ) which you could find useful. I could send you some exercises and some phrases, basic words, etc., which could be a good start, if you want. I will PM you my @ address. If you are interested, just E-mail me.
Silvia
