Hello am in the process of relocating to Cairo with my partner and cat.
Have visited many times and am aware of culture..beliefs etc.
Basically am looking for some place name dropping of good pubs and clubs.
I have not had much time so far to explore too far from Maadi (allready not impressed by expat clubs though)..am a bit of a thrill seeker and love the social scene therefore any advice would be gladly appreciated.

I live in Alex so I can't help you with Cairo, but I came across some people who live in Cairo and chat on the tripadvisor.com forums. Karen from Cairo seems really knowledgeable. Pick up an Egypt Today magazine at a stand. At the back they have info on activities and clubs. Maybe that will help out as well.

Hope it helps. I hate all the smog and traffic in Cairo but there is a lot more to do there. It's boring here, but there is a trade of too a bit more cleaner and less hectic
