Teaching English is really the only job easily accessible to non-English speakers. My wife is a language teacher and it really is very easy to find work if you are not in one of the main touristy areas. In cities like Turin or Milan you will find a job very easily. Try to arrive in September/October though to be in time for the beginning of the teaching year...


I live in Nola about 15 minutes from Naples, I really think you should holiday out here to actualy get a taste for the area and country. I recommend that you come in the tourist off season. You need to try to see Naples not from a tourists point of view but from a residents point of view. Naples is not an average italian city, it's in political turmoil and the local economies are quite fragile and very, very volatile...


We have moved to Arco Felice, outside of Pozzouli, Italy in September last year. We had been on holiday around here 3 times and decided to take the plunge and up sticks and move. We had no jobs to go to, but my husband is a tutor and is doing the TEFL course, and I am looking for work here. We are learning the language. It is hard to find 9-5 work, I have tried the agencies and large hotels in Naples, but to no avail. I have had mixed feelings about life here and at times it feels like riding a roller coaster...
