I miss.....my family....car boot sales where you can still find real bargains.......the sea - yes, even those ruddy seagulls......being able to receive broadband and, after a day like today (water was turned off all day and I kept forgetting! Stubbed my toe and it REALLY hurt AND broke my oldest and most favourite Denby casserole) must remember to get some new specs..........Before you feel too sorry for me.......seagulls have been replaced by buzzards and all manner of beautiful birds including a pair of Woodpeckers.......local brocantes are quite fun (all but disappear for the winter) and I do get the odd bargain albeit filled with worm.....I CAN still communicate with family, friends and you guys albeit at a painfully slow connection speed oh! I almost forgot (good stuff this vin rouge) my French doesn't feel as if I have improved at all (our farmer says I have) but I am fluent in Sheep and on first-name terms......thanks for listening au revoir Mickey2

Mostly my friends as i dont have a big famliy & we didnt live close to each other.

But i do miss a tv program that i use to watch called dog the bounty hunter.

I also miss that a cant get blue imperial leather soap & my steak sauce.
But apart form those few little thing i am glad i moved to Dubai & i have gained more then i left.

I do miss seeing family and friends on a regular basis, but as I'm only in Portugal for 3 months at a time, its manageable, and we do get a lot of very welcome visitors while we're here.
Other than that, there's no substitute for a 'proper' English country pub... even with the super-inflated price of a pint. Don't think I'd be drinking it in the Beer Garden in January, though... which I've certainly done here in the Algarve!

Sorry for being obtuse ---but if people miss family and friends --why move abroad ----my family -- and some friends --are really happy for me living abroad---as it means very cheap holdays for them --- and I never knew just how many "friends" I have in the U.K. ---- funny thing though -- when I phone them up --to say I'm staying a few days in the U.K. --even BEFORE ive said anything they are all off visiting relations -- or the house is being painted etc etc ---so do i miss anything ---NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
