Hi there,

We're looking to move to San remo in a few years and are keen to find out more about ex pats in San Remo - we assume there must be some and wanted to make contact to find out more about life there. If anyone can assist that would be fantastic - many thanks in anticiapation - Penny

Hi Jenny, I visited San Remo this year and thought it an excellent town and base. I am confident there are plenty of UK and other expats there, and meeting them will not be a problem. I am looking to move nearby with my wife when I retire as soon as I am able, but as the property prices are a bit steep, we are considering inland at Pieve di Teco which has an up and coming feel to it.
The hardest thing is going to be leaving behind friends and familiar places, although Liguria is a stunning and friendly place to be.
When we were there we spent a day with some really helpful expat agents from "Belpalazzo", who used to live in Manchester. They have a sister agency near San Remo, and are prepared to talk much more than house prices. Hope this is some use, but really we could do with the same as you, some local feedback! Best wishes, Dave Wilkinson

HI Dave,
Thanks for your reply (I haven't been on the site for weeks - so apologies for not responding!) We were in San Remo for New Year and it was fantastic - lots going on. We're back in April to explore some more and to find some expats to ask all the things we want to know about the area - when we find them I'll post on the site to let you know. Have you got any contact details for Belpalazzo they sound like they might be useful. Many thanks - Penny
