Land clearance around Bom Sucesso side of the Obidos lagoon

Post Posted: Thu Feb 19, 2015 9:58 pm

Hi just wondered if anyone knew anything about the work going on by the Obidos Lagoon on the Bom Sucesso side. A huge amount of land was cleared last September and then work suddenly stopped. The person who has bought the land I hear is from Singapore and has caused some problems in the area and from what have also heard is making himself unpopular. The land is along the side of the lagoon not far from Aldeia de Pescadores where the Bica de Lagoa cafe is located. I just wondered if anyone had any more information as I have a house closeby and am only there during holiday periods

Hi Lissy
most of the land clearance done in/around BS is following new regualtions introduced after the 2017 fires and deaths therefrom. certainly the land clerance IN BS (the praias near the beach are as result of that. my place is at the beach so i am sure of that. I was there in Sept/October and didnt notice any 'significant' clearance as walking along lagoon path. up nearer to Bairo 25 and pequeno pescado (spg) the land is owned (i thought indian) was bought for development but without required permisions...so I was told! who knows
I am going back in 3 weeks so will naturally have a better look!
