Ideas of prices for water systems (specifically off grid)

Post Posted: Mon Jun 20, 2016 2:04 pm

Hi all,

I'm currently researching countries to build an off grid eco home and as I've lived in Bulgaria before, this is currently top of my list.

I'd be looking at having an off grid water system - assuming I don't have a property with a well and need to use surface run-off or roof run-off and a water catchment system, how much would an underground (or at least partially submerged or covered) cistern cost? I've seen some 3000 litre storage tanks online from the UK which are coming in at about £900 inc. VAT.

Alternatively, if anyone has had any success in using micro hydro power to pump water from a river or stream, I'd love to hear about your experience.

Also, has anyone set up using solar power with a supplier in Bulgaria, or have you imported your systems?

Thanks,

Louise
