Moving to Bulgaria

Post Posted: Fri Mar 31, 2017 4:43 am

Hi,

I have downloaded a list of solicitors in Bulgaria from the Home Office website. Has anyone used a solicitor off this list?

We would like to fly from Birmingham, but Luton, Manchester anywhere really will do.

I have found a couple of package holiday deals that are as cheap as the flights on their own, but that means staying at golden sands and travelling out.

We are currently building a short list, we are getting a map of Bulgaria then we can contact the various estate agents to make plans to view.

Does anyone have a B&B or know of a good one in the Veliko Tarnovo area? One with a pool preferably, we are also looking at flying into Bucharest and Taxi to Veliko Tarnovo then Hire a car.

Also no that Brexit has been triggered we're considering registering as a company.

Please keep you views coming.

I'll compile a list of villages where shortlisted properties are then hopefully get some info from Bulgarian members about each village

Bryan

Hi Bryan

So sorry your posts have had no replies. so many views, I am surprised no one had any views.

I live near burgas and know a bit around Varna , but not too much about VT or other areas

A few years ago I also found with Balkan holidays I could get a hotel and flights cheaper than a flight and I ended umpiring some good friends there, but as you say, if it is cheaper than the flight, you don't need to stay there.

Again I apologise that no one has deemed yo answer you , and hope maybe someone can give some more advise.

look at booking.com they have a great selection, my wife and I used them when we first came and found self catering in VT.
Fly into Sofia then catch the 20lev coach to VT, there is a 3lev shuttle from airport to Sofia bus station.
Many Brits live in the VT province as it is centrally placed and gives good access to all of Bulgaria, VT is beautiful.
Not sure about car hire but could find out if you require, my wife and I drove here.
Some villages have gypsies which should be avoided if possible.
There are many property agents in VT many of which speak English.
Don't worry about solicitor or notary as agent arranges all

If anyone is looking for VT, Varna or surrounding area to find a very reliable, utterly trustworthy and exceptionally helpful House agent I can HIGHLY recommed Ves Valchev www.idealhomes-bg.com/.../p1/.html.

Ves also underakes many other additional & supportive services making life easy for "newbies". From car registration, utilities, financial, legal, security, maintenance (the list is endless). Ves is well known to so many expats in the region & highly recommended by so many. He has been a utter godsend to me
