Moving to Portugal, mentor needed

Post Posted: Wed Aug 29, 2018 3:32 pm

I'm an American, soon to be retired, and soon to be moving to live for at least six months of each year in central Portugal. Although I've worked through many of the bureaucratic and cultural hurdles on my own, I'd very much like to find someone who has been through the process of transition already, and to whom I can turn for email assistance with practical questions as they arise. Thank you!

Hi,

You may find better info if you are prepared to use facebook. There are several groups covering your queries. Best I've heard about is "amercians&friendspt" worth a look.

Regards

Robin

Hi Blackstone,

We're in the process of moving to central Portugal, exchanging contract this week. Be happy to help if we're a bit ahead of you in how we've overcome any hurdles etc. However, there will be much more experienced people here than us!!
