Self-employed South African moving to Portugal
Subforums: Property for Sale/Rent, 2nd Hand Items for Sale/Wanted
First time poster here, hoping someone could assist with some visa requirement questions as the Portugese embassy seems unable to clarify.
I am a self-employed South African consultant and have received a contract from a Lisbon based firm. I'm looking to relocate to Portugal and find new clients in the country. It's my understanding that since my stay will most likely be over 1 year, I need to apply for a Residency Visa for independent work activity or migrant entrepreneur.
In order to obtain a residence visa, I was asked to submit the following which I am unclear on, most importantly the first question:
1. Declaration issued by the Employment and Training Institute (IEFP): Is thisnecessary to obtain if I am entering as a self-employed person?
2. Proof of Self-employment: would my contract with this portugese-based firm suffice?
3. Request for a criminal record enquiry by the Immigration And Border Services (SEF): Where one might obtain / apply for this?
4. Proof of means of substinance: would my contract along with bank statements suffice?
I appreciate any help you may provide!
