Alkmaar - Cheese Market

Post Posted: Sun May 22, 2005 10:53 am

I visited Alkmaar this past Friday and what a wonderful city!! But I find that I feel that way about all the cities in Holland haha. Just thought in case anyone has never been to Alkmaar and visited the Cheese Market then its something you should see. We had lunch at a SUBWAY...which to an American, was a real treat! Usually I am not excited about eating at an American fast food restaurant, but Subway is an exception. Delicious and just like the ones in the U.S.!!

Haven't been to the cheese market but I have been to a Subway in St Andrews (Scotland). I agree, they're excellent!

Another interesting market is the biological market on a Saturday in Amsterdam. I forget the street name but it's the one at the end of (and which perhaps run parallel to) the Lindengracht, in the Jordaan. I think it's teh Westermarkt.

Cheers,

Jamie
