Permesso di Soggiorno

Post Posted: Sun Jun 04, 2006 6:12 pm

Hello

We're moving to Italy from Spain in August (UK citizens) and are a little confused about what we need in order to get a Permesso di Soggiorno. We'd be really grateful if anyone can answer these questions...

1. We've read that we need to provide proof of financial security - what kind of proof do they need to see?

2. We've also read that you need to have health insurance - is a European Health Card / E111 sufficient for this?
We've heard that you can get policies at Italian post offices - is this advisable, and if so, how much would it cost?

3. Do you need a rental agreement before you can get you permesso di soggiorno?

Many thanks for any help.
