Moving to Milan area with an 8 year old

Post Posted: Sun Jun 11, 2006 9:49 am

Hello, I have spent some time reading topics in this forum and I find most of the information really useful. I will like to know more about international schools near Milan, and places to live. My husbands office is in Gallarate. We will like to live near there but in a place close to a good school and hopefully with a great expat community. We are Colombian, my son was born here in California, and we are looking forward to enjoying Italy. If any of you know of someone who can help us find a place to rent, and we also need some guidance with all the paperwork to get our visa. The company is paying for our move, but there is currently a really small presence in Italy, and I want to be informed before we accept the offer. My husband is going at the beginning of July to try and see all the schools, the neighborhoods, and to get a feeling for the place. There are so many more questions that I need answered, but I will stop here and wait for a kind soul to answer this post. THANKS.

Hi. Can I suggest you avoid Milan and live in Como. We have lived in Como and before in Milan for a few years with kids and the winter pollution in Milan is bad. Best to enjoy the life by the lake and better housing options and good international school( www.isccomo.com). Good luck.
