Spain V North Cyprus

Post Posted: Tue Jun 27, 2006 8:47 pm

Hi my partner and I have been looking to purchase a property in spain to live not for investment purpose, but they are so blooming expensive!!!! ......by the time we bought somewhere half decent, employment being what it is in spain that unless I can sell this body for a living (but frankly I wouldnt buy it) we would be left with practically nothing to live on.............Awwww all say awwwww.

Anyway we have also been toying with the idea of buying in North Cyprus instead were properties are quite reasonable but they come with another price attached............unless you can find pre 1974 turkish title you would be basically buying land that belongs to a Greek Cypriot who was chucked off during the 1974 Turkish invasion. Not nice.............

My question is this (yes I am finally getting around to it) has anyone else on here considered this? and what finally turned you away from buying there?

You also have another problem northern cyprus isn't in the EEA
so you won't be entitled to free Health care you will have to pay private and it must include A&E, check out the Embassy there it's a good web site
