American moving to Naples, Italy
I am a harpist, organist, pianist moving to Naples, Italy next year to work and live with Italian fiance.
I would love any and all advice on how to obtain a self-employment work permit/visa and residence permit. Also any advice on how to find an apartment to rent and any other general information for an American living in Naples. Is there an American Church, University, etc. to connect with?
I am also getting my TEFL certification to teach English and is there plenty of work? Thanks.
welcome to Expat Focus.
You have a lot of question, but you have also a big advantage: you are moving with an Italian and this will make more easy the all moving.
Regarding the self-employment work permit/visa is better to check at the Italian consulate or embassy in Huston, here their web page
www.italconshouston.org and if there are problems use the plan B: marry the fiance and you will get the visa automatically.
For appartment search I would suggest to use your fiance italian knowledge to find a good agency for that or if you know which area you would like to stay go there and ask at shops owner, they know for sure if there is something free in the area.
American Church: I have found a web page for the American Churches in Europe = www.tec-europe.org maybe they can help you.
There are english teaching school, the follow Url will give you the list of all of them: www.paginegialle.it/pg...i&x=20&y=9
Good luck for now and have fund in Naples, it is a beatifull city!
