Rugby in Thailand: Hard to find but it's available!
As a rugby nut. I was pretty dismayed when I first settled in Thailand, as there is very little quality rugby here. Even in Bangkok, it's pretty amateur stuff, just colleges & social clubs, etc., but beyond the big city, there's virtually none. As a Southern African, this worried me deeply.
However, thanks to a company that I read about on another forum, I can now watch South African TV via satellite, which means plenty of 6 Nations & Super 14 -- good news with the RWC coming up in September. For example, this weekend, I can watch (if my stamina lasts):
Super 14 games: Highlanders v Stormers, Blues v Reds, Western Force v Lions, Bulls v Chiefs, & the Cheetahs v Crusaders.
Six Nations: Scotland v Italy, Ireland v England (a game worth staying up till 2 to watch!) & France v Wales.
I watch all the rugby I can, even NZ games. So if you're thinking of visiting/moving to Thailand & fear losing your rugby -- fear no more!
