Alone in Bangkok

Post Posted: Tue Jun 27, 2006 4:18 pm

I am in Bangkok since 2 months now with my friend and we didnt meet anyone here. We are located a bit outside of the town center which may explain but we really would like to meet some foreigners. We tried to find some sports clubs here but we didnt find any. So if someone is interested, contact me.

Hi sevber:

How about you start with your nationality's Chamber of Commerce. That would be an easy start point. I don't think you need to be in business but at least they can link you to more network. There is Young Professiongal Network for mix nationalities too. Let me know where you live, at least I can get some hint.

Hiya,
I arrived in Bangkok recently and am looking for people to meet.
I would like to find some guys/girls to hang out with since there is nobody here that I know except for my colleague who is working together with me.
And him I have also only recently met. Smile

Is there from time to time a gathering of Expat focus people or something?

@asiaexpat: I don't find it that easy to meet people. Ok, there are the colleague's at our office and they are friendly and I go to lunch with them from time to time but it stops there. I never go out with them. They seem very shy to me, it seems that I'll have to convince them to go out together. Smile
Or I have to give them some more time, been here only for about 10 days.

Cheers!

Thailand can be daunting to the new arrival but if you read The Big Chilli or even the Bangkok Post at weekends you'll find out where the expats are hanging out.
Sukhamvit is a very popular area for expats or simply just ask your work colleagues where they know that falang go.

Good hunting!

PS

Try a weekend in Pattaya you will always meet people there!!!
