Cameroon

Post Posted: Thu Oct 04, 2007 12:09 am

I am looking at several options for a resident position. One of the places is in Douala, Cameroon. I currently work in Angola so I am accustomed to being in the dark continent . My fiance is from Kazakhstan and will be coming with me and she is little nervous about living in Africa. Any input would be great.

Can anyone one give me any information about the living conditions there?

Hi Brandon
My name is Mark Biddulph, I am South African and have recently taken up a position in Cameroon. New nothing about it as I had only Googled the place before getting here. Wasnt too fussed though as I've spent the last 4 years in Ghana. Cameroon so far has been great, still settling in but people are friendly and the country is beautiful. I am about 3 hours inland in the capital Yaounde and havent been to Douala yet. I do hear that there is a bid expat community there and an internationl airport with direct connections from europe. Youande has all amenities associated with a big city, supermarkets good restaurants etc and you can get anything you need. I imagine Douala would be no different.
