Possible Move to Asia ... Could Use Some Advice

Post Posted: Fri Feb 23, 2007 3:41 am

Greetings,
I have an opportunity to work in Asia. I would like to take my mom (87/good health) with me. Some countries would obviously be easier (infrastructure, visas, expat communities, etc) than others. I could use a bit of advice regarding countries/cities that might be good to consider. In the perfect world, I'd find a "retirement community" to live at where she'd be able to connect with other seniors while I'm at work during the day.

Thanks for your help.

well Thailand has pretty good infrastructure already in place, thriving expat communities etc but the biggest hurdle would probably be visa's for both you (WP) and your mother. Most likely she's retired, if she has sufficient funds in the bank account you can get a retirement visa, otherwise she'll be stuck doing the border bounces.
