Where next? Life in the New World?

Post Posted: Mon Jun 16, 2008 11:00 pm

Good Afternoon all.

I have made the decision to create a new life..and am just in the first steps of leaving the UK...for good I hope. I am a single female, (between the age of 38 and 42...I'll let you figure it out!), with no ties, having jumped off the career ladder, and got rid of the boyfriend (but thats another story). Rolling Eyes I'm a qualified Fitness Instructor and also a Leisure Manager, (think Visitor Attraction, National Trust, that sort of thing!). The world is pretty much my lobster...but it is scary! So at the moment I am researching, researching and more researching.

Having read many posts on the forum...the Caribbean seems to have much to offer, but have I got anything to offer it? I have to work and will be looking for positions in fields of work I have mentioned. I know this is a sweeping question, but are there any specific locations in the Caribbean you would recommend? I am hoping to visit for a 'reccy' in the not too distant future, but need to choose carefully as I won't be able to afford repeat visits. So, in short, I am looking for work that will pay enough to rent and live, a more laid back lifestyle, safe for a single woman, not too scary to drive around, local culture appeals to me, but I realise my line of work may be more appropriate to the tourist areas.

I was considering Dubai, but that has dropped of my radar, Cyprus, but don't think I can earn a living there. I had not considered Caribbean as I though it would be a dream too far...but hey...if the opportunity exists?

Any feedback...comments...advice would be much appreciated! Very Happy

Good grief! Where are all the single guys in those sunnier climes who, in that age group and by definition, need a personal fitness trainer?
