Getting to Guia/Portimao shops

Post Posted: Wed May 06, 2009 1:24 am

Well I have a number of shops to visit next week, but cannot face going to all. Intend to visit Guia/Portimao, but I am hopeless at directions.

When going to Guia i have only gone to the Algarve Shopping centre which (from memory) was on my right when heading from Carveiro area. Where are teh furniture shops are they in the Algarve shopping centre or else where. Is Makro opposit?

In relation to the ones on the way to Portimao/in Portimao, we usually head over the large modern bridge along the road that has a number of roundabouts and an underpass, going past a sign for the hospital. At the end you sweep over the road left wards to get into the area near the football stadium/police station on the corner of the main road. Are any of the furniture shops this area as we have ended up going around in circles previously when going to Portimao.

I know this is a big ask to give directions especially when I describe things so badly. Here's hoping! Embarassed Rolling Eyes

Your memories of heading to Algarve Shopping are correct. When you pull into Algarve Shopping, take the first road in - DO NOT go up the ramp but continue to the roundabout then go right into the retail park where you will find Conforama.

For Portimao, assuming you have come from Carvoeiro, go left at Lagoa on the 125, continue to Portimao over the bridge, past the hospital which will be on your left, then go about a mile and get off at Portimao Retail Park. The furniture shop there is Moviflor.

Good luck.

Hi Yvette,

Unless they've fixed it there wasn't a sign for the retail park - just take an insignificant looking right slip the next one after the Hospital turn.

Regards

Robin
