Kitchen appliance shops

Post Posted: Fri May 22, 2009 2:55 am

I am struggling on the internet finding stores that sell kitchen equipment - washing machine, fridge/freezer, hob & cooker. I am checking things with the kitchen supplier but my initial thoughts are that they are charging a fortune for such equipment and I wonder if it would be better for me to buy those large electrical items myself. I guess I am looking for the equivalent of a Comet, Currys, Argos or the like. I checked out Worten on the internet, but I cannot find single ovens as it just came up with free standing oven and hob, ie what i consider the old fashion type. Thanks in advance. Hi Yvette,
Look on the Worten or radiopopular websites under placa and encastraveis www.radiopopular.pt/ca...oriaId=669

Gosh
Even though I don't understand the language I can see that Radiopopular has lots of electrical products. Is there a store in the Algarve? Will also check out Worten too. Any recommendations as to brands of kitchen appliances. The money tree hasn't been growing so we cannot purchase anything too fancy, but need to consider the energy rating. Is there a local brand that is just as good as any of the expensive brands like Siemens, AEG etc? Surprised

There's one in Portimao Retail Park, one next to Algarve Shopping, probably more. Check their website for locations - www.radiopopular.pt/

Thank you. I trawled the forum and manage to find some old messages in 07 and found out that there was a branch in Portimao. Thanks for the other sites. This is all sending my head spinning. I seem to spend so much time each day after work seeking out deals and options. Maybe eventually I will be able to come to a decision. Any thoughts on local type brands and whether they are just as good as the more expensive brands such as AEG and Siemens.

we went into Radio Popular in Portimau Retail Park when we bought our Villa, and spoke to a girl who could speak English(we are so bad we expect everyone to speak our language) we had a list, new washing machine, fridge freezer, two colour television's hoover, kettle microwave toaster etc. she walked round the shop with us telling us the best buy, we ordered them and they delivered next day, they installed them and removed all the packaging. In fact the washing machine a whirlpool was far superior to the Smeg we had in the UK, we actually found the prices comparable to the UK

I have spent the past 2 hours checking products and printing them off to compare for Worten and Radiopopular. Its good to hear that you were happy with your Whirlpool. In any event I have purchased lots of Philips/Whirlpool products in the past so would be more than happy to again. My husband does not seem to be that happy about looking at the internet for things like this, but he certainly is when it comes to finding the least expensive item when he writes the cheque!! Shocked This probably describes how my eyes feel now!!!
