Citizen of India but living in NZ , moving to canada
After taking the free assessment we found that we are eligible to immigrate to canada. Before taking any decision we are doing some research on mainly 2 points , first working in Canada and second, living in Canada.
Can anyone help us by providing some info on which place, Vancouver or Toronto or Calgary, would suit better with respect to housing, career prospects/ job market, day to day living, healthcare, transport, saving ability, climate, work environment and living conditions.
I am from IT but currently working as an administrator and my husband is from Sales/ Marketing/ Insurance/ Banking/ Customer Service.
And last but not the least, will our international experience will be of any help in canada and how well are foreign (New Zealand and Indian) qualifications recognised in Canada?
Your advise would be greatly appreciated.
I suggest that you both come to Canada, for at least a 2 week holiday, to see for yourself. Vancouver is closest in air miles to NZ, and has a large Indo-Canadian population that is thriving in the Province of British Columbia. British Columbia is on the west coast of Canada, and it is beautiful and varied with ocean coastlines, inland mountains and lakes and fertile river valleys.
Vancouver has a large business sector, and is the largest city in that Province. Many companies have their west coast divisional offices in Vanc ouver. The weather on the coast is warm summers and wet mild winters. In the mountains the snow fall is large with the most snow at the peaks, as much as 25 feet per winter. The southern lakes district has large vinyards and are popular summer vacation destinations.
AS to your other questions I suggest that you read all of the posts on this forum and them come back and ask specific questions of me. I have covered many of those topics previously.
I am a "old Canadian" who comes from a family that came to Canada over 200 years ago from Ireland. I am a 59 year old retired military member, having served 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. I live in Toronto, and enjoy helping those who want to Immigrate to Canada.
