BBQ in Dubai

Rolling Eyes

Hi all,

Does anybody know if BBQ is allowed in Dubai?
Like, can someone buy a disposable grill, put it on the balcony and BBQ some steak? or do you have to have a garden or something?

thanks

Hi
You can great disposable coal bbq's at the supermarkets, which are perfect for the beach etc.
Or if you want a proper bbq go the the garden centre on SZR'd or there is another shop just round the corner from the garden centre which is selling outdoor furniture and bbq's as well.

the disposable coal bbq's are perfect.. I have seen them and they are really practical...

My question is:

Is it allowed to use such "disposable coal bbq's" on the balcony to prepare some steak? Or is there some kind of LAW against that?

I am asking because I heard somewhere that bar b qs are only allowed in back yards... and this does not really make sense because you would either have to be wealthy enough to own a house with a yard and make your own bbq, or you will have to do it in public (beach, park...).

thanks

Hi Cello

I live in the Greens which are all apartments and we are not allowed to have BBQ's on our balconies - although I have seen some people attempt it which was always a laugh.

There are BBQ areas in the communal grounds where you can take your own food and coal etc - this is the same in some of the parks as well, where families take their own stuff and cook it in the designated areas.
