Buying a new Appartment in Marina Smir.

Post Posted: Thu Jul 26, 2007 3:52 am

We have just bought an Appartment in Marina Smir on the Med side of Morocco through MRI.I wonder if anybody can tell us where we can buy furniture from,as the MRI option is quite expensive, especially as it is only a small Appartment. We have been on the Moroccan-living website which is very good,is there more like that,be grateful if anybody knows.

Regards

Paul.

Hello Paul,

Major furniture stores are Kitea, Mobilia and Layalits.

Best wishes

Hi Paul, you could also visit moroccan-living.com and get some quotes from them. Furniture packs completely fitted out for around 6-7000GBP.

Good luck.

J

Thanx for taking the time out J. will be looking into it.The company we bought off do a furniture package for around £8000 but we are not that keen on it!!There is also the health and safety aspect,if we rent we have to have a certificate.
Regards
Paul

Hi Paul, I haven't heard much about the health and safety issues of renting here in Morocco and after living here for 2.5 years or so, "Health and Safety and Morocco" don't really go together too well. Things are changing over here pretty quickly, but I am pretty sure that you will not need to worry too much about that for at least the next 5+ years. Smile good luck with your pursuit of furniture! I know the company that you bought off, and they have told several people that if they do not buy their furniture packages, then they cannot rent out their apartment for them. If you run into this problem and need a recommendation for another company let me know. J

Hiya Jason,
Slightly confused what to do at the moment. We havent actually bought off MRI yet,but we need to get 'into gear'soon as we will be completing at the end of September. At the moment I think we will go with MRI only because everything will be furnished and set up.If not,we have to arrange for someone to collect a key etc.etc. in other words I think they have us by the.......................!!!!!!!! Confused
Any ideas, let me know! thanx mate.
Regards Paul.
