Appartment in Rome

Post Posted: Sun Aug 28, 2005 4:54 pm

Hello !

My husband and I might be moving to Rome within a few months. From what I've read so far, appartments in Rome are small, and not cheap. We would like to live in an old and characteristic appartment in a nice area, but don't know if we can afford such a place. Any recommendations on agencies on the internet ?

Thanks, and have a nce day !

Julia

Hallo Julia,
welcome to Expat Focus.
To find an agency try the follow Url (it is from the jellow pages/pagine gialle):
www.paginegialle.it/pg...007eb&fz=0

Most of them sell flats, to find a renting one use for 'locazione' or 'affitto'.
Good luck and for any help we are here.
Ciao and have fun in La citta eterna

Thank you, Milly for your answer.
We would prefer an unfurnished appartment, but I read in an article that unfurnished appartments are unusual in Rome, and that unfurnished means no bathroom and kitchen. Is that correct ?

Do you know a good agency on the web ?

Hi, I'm an italian back in my country after 10 yrs. abroad. It was difficult for me to find a flat in Rome: flats downtown are very expensive and what is available is usually 2 bedrooms or 5 bedrooms flats (too small or too big for a "normal family"). I can suggest you to visite the site www.casa.it looking on the "affitti" section. Otherwise you can visit the www.ilmessaggero.it and go to the "casa" section on the left column. There you can find some ads, but be ready to find no price on them. try also to find something near to your office, as traffic is terrible here. I hope I was helpful to you. Good luck

hello Jocka! I`m coming to Rome from New Zealand for a month or two. Would an apartment rental in the Vatican area be good? can I mix there with local ppl when I shop etc? I want to improve mio Italian!
Ciao!
