ACs in Cairo?

Post Posted: Sun Dec 28, 2008 8:53 am

Does anyone know where I can buy good, cheap ACs in Cairo? Is it better to buy now or wait for the summer when there is more competition?
I am getting silly prices like 6000LE for a 4 Horse Power AC. That’s far too much I think.
I would love to know your thoughts.
Thanks
wasapnin

YOu should check out Miraco. They are a major manufacturer of A/Cs. Direct seems best. All these small places out in town will expect you to negotiate the price. A few years back we had replace the interior unit of our 2 part system and the 1 part for the interior was 2400le. Can't imagine what it would have been for the compressor as well.

a thousand bucks for an ac unit is crazy..

we bought ours from one of miraco's shops and took the maintenance contract they never even came until we called as one of the units was starting to freeze up. then i saw how they the service people had been cleaning the units. they never even opened up the box on the compressor side of the unit which was located outside.inside all they did was rinse the removable filters out then i called and complained as i perform some maintenance on this type of equipment within certain work i do.

they sent other people out, the units were opened up and cleaned much better but still incorrectly..it solved our icing up problem.

other then that they do build a good ac unit.
