Hi Stesol,

If you are wanting to know who the Bruins are, (the ones who play in the NHL against the Leafs), then they are from Boston.

If you have any other queries about Hockey, I can try to help, I got interested in it at University and followed it ever since. As long as you want the basics, ask away.

Cheers

Hamburger Helper is a product that is intended to be added to a pound of hambrger meat

"Mince" in British speak.

The National Hockey league has 30 teams, with 5 of them located in cities in Canada, the rest are in the USA. Starting on the east side of Canada ........

Montreal Canadiens.

The Toronto Maple Leafs

Edmonton Oilers

Calgary Flames

Vancouver Canucks

That's definitely five listed - I know the Ottawa Senators (aka the Sens) have tanked this season, but last time I looked they were still in the NHL!

ExPat Andy ;

That was a slight Freudian slip........Ottawa does have a NHL team, the Senators. Interesting how many Toronto sweaters are in the house, when the Sens play at home ......grin.

Hi Jim,

My family and I (2 kids age 6 and 14) moved to Nova Scotia in July 2007 but things have not worked out for us here finacially, and with a small job market, hubby is struggling to find a new job (I know the current economic climate doesn't help).
Ontario was always our dream, we always wanted to move there but somehow got diverted during our wait for PR. We love it here but can't see us staying forever.

We were going to move back to the UK, but we did leave there for many reasons and don't really want to return to the same.

Do you think we would like Ontario?
I know this is a really open question, but you said you could answer anything ; )

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Lorry :

If you move from NS to Ontario, you will be following many others who were born in NS......... It has been a Canadian domestic migration pattern for more than 150 years.

NS is a lovely and scenic place, no doubt, but you can't feed scenery to the kids for their supper, can you ? The population of NS is just one million people, all told, while that of Ontario is 12 million. That in it's self should give you an idea of the size of the employment market, between the two Provinces. Physically Ontario is huge, and there are more than 10 cities in Southern Ontario that have more population than Halifax does ( 345,000 ).

I'm not going to say that a job will fall off the tree and hit you on the day that you arrive here, but the chances have to be better here than in NS, just based on the population differences. What type of employment do you need to find ? Maybe I can give you some ideas ?

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your reply.
Hubby is in I.T. He is a software tester and project manager.
I am a Travel Agent, but I'll do anything until we are settled and established.

I remember the other thing putting me off about Ontario is the extremes in weather. Freezing in winter and boiling in summer. lol

Also, the fact that nobody seems to be able to find a doctor is a bit worrying.

Thanks again. Very Happy
