Topaz,

There are several hunting clubs in Morocco. I know it because I have organized several events for them years ago, when I used to work in the hospitality industry in Morocco.

Ah, I found more info:

Only the following non-automatic firearms and ammunition may be brought to Morocco:
Item Quantity
Shotguns 3
(gauge 20,16 and 12)
Ammunition 1,000 rounds

Firearms must be registered with the Embassy and with Moroccan police authorities on arrival. A hunting permit and hunting insurance are required (about $150 a year). The Embassy will assist in registration and in securing required permits and insurance. Any ammunition purchase must be noted by the seller on the hunting permit. Except as listed above, no other types of firearms or ammunition are permitted in Morocco; i.e., no rifled weapons are licensed for private individuals.

From this very helpful URL:

foia.state.gov/MMS/pos...ntryID=102

So, they allow hunting-type shotguns only. Well that is better than nothing.

Lol, I found your post when searching for the same information. Yes, it does appear that Morocco is one of those strange countries (like Cyprus) where heavy and powerful shotguns are allowed but air guns et al are not.
(Actually, air pistols are explicitly prohibited- it says on their customs webpage that importing air pistols will get you treated the same as if you imported narcotics…)
