Advice on schools and acommodation in Gurgaon

Post Posted: Tue May 05, 2009 7:22 pm

I am considering a posting to Gurgaon with my family and am looking for advice on schools for my daughter aged 5 (we are British) and residential areas / accommodation.

Can anybody recommend any good schools in Gurgaon with reasonable expat numbers as I believe it will assist my daughter to settle if there are other children in the same position ? Is the Britsh School in Delhi an option, if you live in South Delhi.

Also, is anybody able to advise what residential areas / accommodation would be suitable for our family? T

Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for your post and I'm only sorry that I can't help you with advice on your questions because I am not in the Gurgaon area.

However, I wish you the best of luck with finding the right school for your daughter and also the right accommodation for your family. If any of my in-laws' relatives over there can suggest anything, I will certainly pass it on.

hi,

There is a british school in delhi, its located at San Martin Marg
Chanakyapuri, Delhi, 110021.contact no: 011 24102183 , for addmission you can write to Ms. Margaret (Sweeney) - m.sweeney @ british-school.org - Admissions & Community Relations Manager.

The best Residential area suited for you would be Vasant Vihar, Shanti Niketan, Anand Niketan and wes end, as it would be suitable for you kid for school, and it would be easy for you to commute between gurgaon and this location as it would only 20 mins drive.

I would be able to help you in terms of giving you orientation for Delhi and gurgaon, and in searching a suitable residential accomodation for you and your family.
Do let me know if you need and further information.
you can contact me on jigyasha.gupta @ gmail.com.

regards,
jigyasa

I have heard good feedback about Ryan International School. Did you check that ?

I personally don't know how EXCELSIOR AMERICAN SCHOOL is. But I can see many people recommending that as well.

Here are the websites for your refrence

1. www.ryaninternational.org
2. www.excelsioreducation.org/

Hope this helps. Good Luck. Smile

Hi,
Maybe I am late and you have already shifted into India but a great school where I want to put my daughter is SHIKSHANTAR which means learning with a difference. Please email me at cpsanga @ yahoo.co.in if you need any other assistance as I belong to Gurgaon and if you need to rent any fully furnished flats in Gurgaon.regards.

Hi Gurgaon is a Small town yet a surge of new schools national and international curriculum are available. Things are not very straight forward, If You are from the U.K, International schools can cost you a fortune as expensive as sending your kid to a private school in UK a few examples are GD Goenka, and top of the list is Pathways.

If you are slightly open-minded to accept your kid to attend private school meant for Indian students (good selection) there are excellent choices like DPS sector 45, DPS Sushant lok, sun city, Heritage school, Shriram school and many more schools which i don't mention here. Initially these schools are difficult to get into but are inexpensive, and deliver high quality education. You might-be better off having a chat with the school principal before you put in an application as this might help them in decision making in your favor.

Tell me if i can help
