British couple in Mumbai

Post Posted: Wed Nov 16, 2005 11:56 am

We are a british couple in our 40's and we have just moved to Pawai in Mumbai. We will be here for 1 year and we are looking for other expats in the area to meet up with for a meal or evening out, or indeed to give me some one to talk to during the day. Is there anybody out there?

Hi

I am arriving on the 1st Dec. I work in the aviation industry.

I would be really keen to hear of your experiences as I have never visited India.

Any tips? I have accommodation provided for the first month then I will be looking for somewhere to live. If you can suggest somewhere within reach of the airport that might be suitable that would really help Smile What can I expect to pay for something reasonable? Is there any info on the net?

Hope you are enjoying your time in Mumbai.

Chris

Dear British couple,

You've moved to the right place - Powai. There is a sizeable group of expatriates there, whom I am sure you have met by now.

Otherwise, go on up to THE BAR at Saffron Spice (on top of the Pizza Hut in Hiranandani Gardens) on Wednesdays 6pm to 9pm (Happy Hours) and you'll find a regular gathering of expats.

Good luck!

Chris

Try Hiranandani Gardens in Powai for a great place near the airport.

Thanks Maestro

I might do that. I have found a place in Santacruz west so i think the Bandra area will be my stomping ground..... recommendations?

Cheers

Expats welcome to POWAI in Mumbai, India

Powai Hiranandani Gardens in MUMBAI is a great place for expats. Good shopping malls, boutique hotel and good locality with excellent housing and broad band connectivity. Let me know if anyone needs a meeting in Mumbai.
