Consistently good hairdresser

Post Posted: Thu Mar 18, 2010 8:33 pm

I am sure this topic has been covered before but has anyone who has been here a while found a consistently good hairdresser who is good at both colour and cutting? I have been here 11 years and have tried many. The longest I have ever stayed with one salon is three visits. I am not alone. Many other expats seem to have had or are having a similar experience.

Hi shorouky

as I am a frequent person in having my hair cut here's my experience
( I had it cut every 2 months)
Mohammed Al sagheer is the best Salon service, They are having branches allover cairo, I tried Zamalek, Semeramis intercontinnental hotel, Dokki branch, all are good, also I tried many hairdressers at the branch itself ( Zamalek)
many actresses and female celebrities go there ( so you can gurantee the professional hair coloring as well)
as a piece of advice :you can ask the branch manager to get you the best hairdresser : tell him it is your first time at thiers and ayou are tired enough Smile
and he will get you the best for sure

Also Ahmed and Abdu , they are in Dokki and having another branch in City stars ..they are perfect as well

Prices , I believe they worth it Smile it is not a daily thing and at the end it is one's look
so for Mohammed Alsagheer : wash + cut + babyliss/flat iron / blow dry = 180 LE
TIPS : you can or no problem if you didnt give Smile
Thursdays afternoon/ evening :are nightmare avoid going there - it is crowded
No booking in advance
opening hours 10am-10pm
if looking for a branch near you, just tell me what is your district and tell you the nearest

have a nice weekend

Thanks for the recommendations. I have tried them all and they always make my hair orange instead of blond. I don't have this problem in the UK or the US so I wonder what they use here. I have a fair haired friend here who suffers the same problem. The cutting was fine but I need a good colourist!

My daughter had her hair coloured at Kriss in Korba, she is dark brown and had light blonde highlights done. He guaranteed it would not be brassy. It was fantastic when it was done, she has more blonde than brown. How about trying them. His name was Agoob. He is Syrian.

Actually this is the hairdresser I use but they are not consistent. One time sort of OK the next time not OK at all. Colouring hair is a real science and the result depends on the original cplour and the colour you are colouring. No one here seems to take this into consideration. They are the best so far though! Thanks.

Heidi in Maadi (on road 9) is very good. Can't say much about coloring since I don't get that done, but heard from others that they were very pleased with her work.

I've been to Mohamed Sagheer and was not happy. Confused
