buying in bulgaria - i need advice

Post Posted: Thu Dec 08, 2005 7:30 pm

hi
i was wondering if anyone could give me any advice - i am 23yrs old and have never bought property before! I have just put down a holding fee on a off plan new build ski apartment in bansko - using an inetrmet based site! i have appied for a morgage using a sister company and although nothing is in writing yet they say it shoud be fine no probs! The company i bought the apartment from say taht the contract has been sorted by their legal team and the developers layers - as it is so close to xmas and i have only 3 weeks to look through and sign the contract i will have trouble finding a uk lawyer - the company said you dont have to use a lawyer and said its up to me but many people don't - do you have any advice - also they said i could use one of their independent bulgarian lawyers! please help!

Don't do anything until you come and look what you are getting. I can put you in touch with a lady who is here at the moment and is having terrible problems regarding the same thing as you.
My Bulgarian neighbours have put her in touch with their lawyer in Sophia who hopefully can help her. Would you do this in the UK? There are many lawyers in the UK who specialise in foreign property purchases. Enquire on the web.
