Americans in Bulgaria

Post Posted: Sat Dec 10, 2005 6:40 am

Are there any americans living in Bulgaria that can tell me how long it took you to obtain a visa D, and any other helpful information that I may need to know before moving there permanently? I'm already married to a Bulgarian so I don't think it should be that hard. Let me know.

It's not difficult at all. I am a Bulgarian, but lived in the US for 9 years. My family still lives there as dual nationals.

E-mail me at usglarus @ yahoo.co.uk and I'll send you a summary and instructions on applying. A friend from Texas is going through the process right now as he is married to a Bulgarian.

Speak soon.

Only took me 3 weeks as well -- though a little annoying popping back and forth between varna and bucharest. Not a big deal though -- not married (yet) but applied on the grounds of my business, no problems. The people in the Bucharest consulate are particularly helpful in the process!
