Cash checks in Cyprus banks?

Post Posted: Sun Aug 01, 2010 2:03 am

I've heard that there is a lot of work to open Cyprus bankaccount. Like you need a lawyer and have to sign ~20 papers before you get the account after waiting 3 weeks.

I was thinking if there will be any problem to cash checks? Do I need a lawyer to do that also or can I just walk into the bank with my passport and my check and cash it myself as long as I got a bankaccount in that bank?

I was thinking of another thing too. Is it true that you need one account for each currency?

Like if I receive a wire-transfer with Euro I need a account for that. Another for US Dollar and so on?

Opening a bank account here in Cyprus is very easy.

Similar setup to the UK.

You will need proof of address and passport and to fill out a couple of forms
