Expat Clubs and Societies in Turkey

Post Posted: Sun Aug 01, 2010 3:27 pm

Hi Folks

When you move to a new country there is nothing worse than feeling isolated in an unfamiliar environment. With this in mind we are updating the expat groups section of the Expat Focus Country Guide for Turkey.

Please would you take a moment to share the details of any expat clubs or societies in your area?

Details can be posted here by replying to this topic, sent directly to me by email on carole@expatfocus.com or submitted directly using the submission form.

Also, please don't forget to use the What's on in Turkey forum and our Turkey Facebook group to add upcoming expat events etc, thank you!

We look forward to hearing from you!
Kind regards
Carole

For women in Izmir there is the International Association for Women.
They have get togethers, dinners etc. They welcome new members and offer support.
There is some charity work going on too- donations as well as getting involved.

This came from the Int Women of Izmir, so a big thank you to whoever was responsible for it! Smile And I hope they don't mind my putting it here! Wink I'm sure they don't! Smile

As an Expat one can feel virtually 'unconnected' at times. In a foreign land, where sometimes the way of things can seem confusing, it can be a great comfort to connect with similar 'others' who have gone before you - been there, done that - and so here is a website listing of organizations and blogs to help the newly arrived feel less adrift.....Istanbul, Ankara, Didim and Fethiye are included for those of us who may spend time in those cities or even go to live there.
