kedi = cat

su= water

ekmek= bread

merhaba= hello

dondurma= ice cream

Turkish is phonetic, ie read as it is written ( not like the Eng lang) so for eg the word for water - su- is read like the girl's name Sue in English.

Cheap items in TR?

A loaf of bread- 28 kuruş

A T shirt from the market- 2 TL

A breakfast in IKEA- 3TL

Pretty silver bracelet with blue beads on- 15 to 20 TL

Good quality bath towel- 10 TL

Note 100 kuruş= 1 TL

Now for 5 particularly Turkish jobs? Smile

Oya maker ( the embroidery or fine crotchet that is sewn onto the edges of scarves etc)
