Unwanted car for scrap?

Post Posted: Thu Aug 25, 2011 8:28 pm

Hi guys,

Can anyone give us some advice on what to do with our old car - 1996 Fiat Branvo 1.4 - the cam shaft has died - we have called a few people in the 123 that collect old cars but they have not got back to us.

Does anyone know of someone who would come and pick it up? or who would want it? We don´t want any money for it - Just thought it would be good for spare parts?

Thanks
Lynn

there is value in an old car as long as it has valid mot etc...eg ford have offer at moment that will give you 4000 in px value against a new car purchase--car must be over 13 years old

Thanks guys,

We have already bought another car - just want to get rid of it!! Yes it has a valid MOT only till October sometime.

Will see if my husband knows of the place in Lagos.

Thank you

Hi Lynn, thought t'other half was going to answer this yesterday ... Rolling Eyes

Do you know Paulo, the Manager at Algartracto? It's who we use for all our car works etc. Our Clio got totalled in May and we had it taken to Algartracto and frankly left it with them to 'give' to a breaker rather than us pay a 'breaker' to take it away. Maybe you could have a word with them as they are on the doorstep?

There is one in case you don't know, just outside of Algoz on the road to Guia on the left-hand side across from the new estate so perhaps your t'other half could go ask there ... closer than Lagos.

Ok Victoria,

That sounds good - will let Ad know and he can go and sort it out - otherwise it is going to be there so long, someone will be camping out in it soon!!! Idea lol!!!

Thank you!
