Am I too old ??

Post Posted: Mon Aug 06, 2012 5:52 pm

Question I love Turkey and would love to live there but I am a single female of 66 years young. Would I fit into the social structure ok or am I too old and the wrong sex?

Hi there! And welcome to the Forum! Smile
Interesting questions! if you've been coming here for hols over a certain period of time, you are probably able to find the answers yourself.
How did you get on when you were here for a couple of weeks?
If you really like the place, why not come and stay for 3 months to see how you cope? Then you could maybe stay longer each time until you can make a final decision.

Good luck and come back and share your experiences! Smile

Thank you for your answer to my question how ever all my visits to Turkey have been as part of a couple not alone. To begin lone visits and extending the gradually would take a long time [takeing my age into consideration] I also have a pet that I would not want to leave for extended periods.
Question I was rather hoping that I might be able to speed up my reseach by finding some one who has a view on this or perhaps first hand experience of an older female living alone in Turkey.
But thanks anyway Smile

Hi again. I see where you are coming from but the answer again really depends on many factors. Holidays and actually living in a place are totally different.
Where did you used to come as part of a couple? You would get a reasonable idea of how it could be.
FYI if your pet is older and needs medication get stocked up before bringing him/her here. It's quite difficult to find proper animal medication here although there are good vets as well as pet supplies in supermarkets.
All the best from Izmir Smile
