Places I dream of visiting in Italy

Post Posted: Wed Feb 22, 2006 5:08 am

Hi,

I bought a book of some old hand painted post cards of Italy, a couple of them where of the Isle of Capri and Sorrento. I was captivated by these beatifull old post cards. So I looked up some of the places on the internet and it is like time has stopped, not a lot has changed. Italy has preserved its beatifull placed, unlike the UK that buldozed ours in the 60's.

I love architecture and would love to visit the famous Hotel Tramontano where throughout its long history as a private mansion and hotel, many great writers, poets and artists have been welcomed at the Imperial Hotel Tramontano. Legend has it that Milton visited during his travels and it was also graced by the writers Goethe, Byron, Scott, Keats and Shelley.

The Isle of Capri looks superb with its Blue Grotto and La piazza Umberto. In my dreams! Razz

But one day I will visit these lovely places and take my old hand tinted post cards with me and compare Rolling Eyes
