EDP Bill Oddity

Post Posted: Thu Feb 28, 2013 4:32 pm

Yes - I know they all are a bit odd, but, I seem never to have received a bill requiring payment in February. Had one for January and just got one for March. However, Looking at the Periodo de Faturacao of these two bills they are consecutive....!!???!!

Anyone else? Have EDP given me a free month's credit??

Heigh-ho!

Have you been switched from monthly to bi-monthly billing?

Our most recent fatura corrects EDP's over-estimation Evil or Very Mad to such an extent that they will be paying us in March. Laughing

You do realise Richard, that you can telephone in (free call to an automated system) your own reading every month?

Hi Richard

The period faturacao is still 29 days....??? Just a bit late sending out the bill!

Robin

I read my own meter (it is very easy) on the last day of Feb, April etc... ie every two months and submit readings via their web-site. This ensures that we are never in a "catch-up" situation and we pay by D/D. We regard it as a sensible approach to keeping an eye on costs.

February only has 28 days - maybe you've paid right at the end of January and again at the start of March (and may pay again at the end of March)?

I do realise that, though prefer to do it online when I have a reading. Snag is we're not full-time residents so our consumption is uneven (and our own readings infrequent) - I assume EDP averages over the year but we use much less in the winter, resulting in them over-estimating then and under-estimating in the summer.

EDP read the meter in mid-November and again mid-February and despite the low consumption recorded by their own readings they have estimated for the last 10 days of February at twice the average for night-time and five times the average for daytime!!
