Anyone living in Genova with tips to share?

Post Posted: Thu Mar 16, 2006 7:40 am

Anyone with any tips for living in Genova? We have been to Italy many times, but never to live. Any tips? Cost of living and day to day etc?

Hi. I was interested in your post because I am moving to Genova as well, but not until August. It seems as though there aren't many expats there and I'm having trouble finding out any information! I saw that you were trying to figure out what school to put your kids in - I'm actually moving to Genova to teach at the American International School there. I would be interested in knowing what you decided to do and if you have already arrived, what your thoughts were on the area. Please write back if you have a spare moment - I'm sure your life is busy if you're planning to move soon!
Thank you for your time,
Addie

Hi there,

Just posting a response to your reply. You ae correct, there seems to be few expats in Genova. I did however, get in touch with some very nice people via the American Womens Club in Genova.

We decided to enroll our son in the International school, so I am sure we will meet Smile What is your name? Mine is Patricia, but everyone here calls me Stormy. I am sure Patricia will go over bigger in Italy Smile

Let me know if you find any helpful information. Are you working with a realtor? We are going to rent for 2 years until we are sure we will be i Italy long term. We are thinging Albaro or Nervi. Have you been looking yet?

Do you have children?

50 questions..........

Thank you so much for writing back. My name is Addie and I will actually be the PreK teacher there. The school has found us apartments and I can't remember off hand where it is located. Supposedly it is about two miles south of the school. I will write again when I have a chance, and thank you again for writing! I might have some questions for you soon!

Take care,
Addie
