advice on moving to amsterdam

Post Posted: Wed Mar 22, 2006 8:30 pm

my husband and i are investigating relocating to the netherlands, amsterdam would be perfect! we are both successful career driven individuals - i am in the advertising industry, my husband is in the film industry. where could we search online for positions in each? and salary-wise, what is the minimum for a comfortable and happy life in amsterdam ... if anyone could provide me with information and online links i could research, i'd be really really thankful.

thanks for your time ... Question

Here are some companies which deal with multlingual recruitment in or around Amsterdam, you'll need to Google for URLs etc:

Abroad Experience BV
Adams' Multilingual Recruitment
Blue Lynx Employment
EnglishLanguageJobs.Com
Job in
Kelly Services
Projob International
Randstad
Randstad Callflex Multilingual Recruitment
Undutchables
Unique

You could also try monsterboard.nl and other online listing services.

Kind regards,

Jamie

hi antionette,
If you have management experience, these agencies are not suitable, except for adams multilingual (www.adamsrecruit.nl) as the owner is nice and may be very helpful in directing you.

if you want to live in amsterdam, renting a place is not cheap and can easily run from 2500 Euro per month in a nice area for a 2 or 3 bedroom place. If you focus on international companies and get an expat contract, the company will help pay the rent plus you would qualify for the 30% expat tax rule.

try monsterboard and the link of the city of amsterdam below. They list many of the international companies in the Amsterdam area.

good luck!
