Retirement apart-hotel on the sea front

Post Posted: Sun May 08, 2016 11:12 pm

Hi everybody.

My business is associated with the retirement housing market and I am interested to learn if anyone would be interested to purchase or rent a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment in an apart-hotel right on the coast near San Juan de los Terreros that will be targeted to those over 55 and set up more like an assisted living complex with warden, alarms and security.

Hola

No as an experience has taught me that if it is not set up well, then if all the apartments can't be sold to the over 55's, then they will fill it any way they can. Also, in the complex I looked at, Grandparents had their grandkids over for the summer which meant there were always noisy kids running around the pool when it was open.

Maybe a jaundiced view, and it was the only one I looked at. A well run established set-up may work better

Thanks dave for your comments.

I do agree on what you are saying but this enterprise would be only be available to those over 55 with a vigorous clause stating this. As far as children wishing to visit their grandparents, there would be also strick rules as one cant discriminate.

My partner is a nurse currently dealing with Dementia patients here in the UK and my mum is a carer. We were considering looking into doing something down this road in Spain. Obviously it would be more of a retirement home for able bodied pensioners that did not want to leave Spain and return to UK's gloomy cold wet weather and expensive lifestyle.

I would be interested to see if you get this going. Where are you situated?

My company has the chance to purchase or find investors to purchase another apart-hotel 100Mts from the sea near Estepona, CDS, which would make well for a sheltered accommodation complex. It has several facilities alreadyand consists of 100 suites/apartments. We are looking for an investment group to purchase and we would be happy to operate the complex as we have lots of experience in this market.

As renting seems to be the way people are considering these days, the units would in our view be best served by renting for short or long term rentals stays. If anyone is looking for this type of accommodation in this area or other areas, we would like to hear from them.
