Expat concerns on International School in Vietnam

Post Posted: Tue May 31, 2016 10:22 pm

My son is 7 years old and we will be moving to Vietnam in about 6 months. Can anyone share with me issues kids may have when moving?

Same here. I moved to Vietnam 1 year ago. My son was a little bit confused during the first months here. Almost everyone speaks Vietnamese when seeing him. New friends and teachers were a problem too, he is a shy boy. Anyway we had a happy ending after all.

Don't worry dear, your child will soon enjoy the atmosphere in here. Quite peaceful and active for young childern. Education program in here is also good. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Well, i used to get headache with this problem for my kids. First thing is to pick a good school. You can search around District 2 and 7 for international ones. My daughter is at EIS. Her first teacher there was so good, she put a lot of effort to make my daughter feel completely comfortable.

Register him to different activities. There are a few football clubs in D2, pony riding, kungfu, climbing, swimming…

The most difficulty for students like your son is education program. It's quite different here. American curriculum, French, British, IB. Once you pick a good school that fits with his personality then he'll be ok.

Thanks for your advices.
I'm afraid young international child cannot adapt in a new environment.
What are problems that a foreign student can be faced when studying in Vietnam? Idea Idea
