Plumber needed

Post Posted: Tue Oct 25, 2016 10:19 pm

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I have recently bought a villa near Almancil and this is my first post on the forum.

We came here for a nice relaxing lifestyle which I am sure we will achieve at some stage but at present my life seems to consist of unblocking drains and trying to fix a variety of electrical and mechanical problems around the villa.

One of my main problems at present is that our electrical hot water boiler has a leak and I need a good plumber to repair or replace the boiler. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I know a good plumber but I'm not sure that he would travel to Almancil.

Have you thought of an alternative solution....install solar panels for your hot water. Okay it is a more expensive solution but you recover the costs on electricty in no time and it is more reliable/dependant. And you free up the space taken by the hot water boiler.

Yes I have considered a Solar collector but to be honest with just myself and my wife in the villa needing hot water the Solar solution seems very expensive (I've been quoted circa 3,000 euros). We presently only spend 250 Euro per year using night time electricity using the electric boiler.
